Tulip bulbs - Bulbes de Tulipes

Tulips are perennial herbaceous bulbiferous geophytes with showy flowers in various shades and tints of attractive hues. One of the first flowers to bloom in the spring, plant tulips in mass to create a striking visual effect. In their natural growing environment tulips grow wild in steppes and mountainous areas with temperate climates. With the long history of cultivation and naturalization of tulips in different parts of the world classification of hybrids and cultivars is complex. Tulip plants require very low maintenance. Plant early, mid and late flowering varieties for a continuous spring display in a wide spectrum of colours. Tulips continue to grow after being cut, making these flowers a favourite for florists and last long in a vase as cut flowers.
