Sugar Pearls is a white fleshed apricot variety borne from a spreading, stocky tree that handles mid winter temperature swings well and shows good all around disease resistance, released from New Jersey in 2005.
Flavor: Juicy, smooth, fine textured flesh with an exceptionally rich, full bodied, golden honey sweet flavour.
Fruit: Medium large pale yellow fruit with an orange blush.
Use: Excellent both fresh and dried.
Hardiness: Zone 4.
Ripening: Harvest in mid August.
Pollination: Needs a pollenizer, plant with another late blooming variety for cross pollination.
Predominant characteristic: White fleshed apricot, blooms much later than all other apricot varieties suitable for cultivation in the far North.
