Triario GR Beneficial Fungi

Triario GR Beneficial Fungi

Scientific name: Trichoderma harzianum T 22.

Trichoderma spp. are frequently the most prevalent culturable fungi, present in nearly all soils and also exist in many other diverse habitats. Trichoderma readily colonizes plant roots and some strains are rhizosphere competent, able to grow on roots as they develop. Trichoderma spp. also attack, parasitize and otherwise gain nutrition from other fungi. They have evolved numerous mechanisms for both attack of other fungi and for enhancing plant and root growth. Different strains of Trichoderma control almost every pathogenic fungus for which control has been sought. Trichoderma harzianum is used as a biofungicide, for foliar application, seed treatment and soil treatment for suppression of fungal pathogens causing various fungal plant diseases. It has been useful for treatment of Botrytis, Fusarium and Penicillium sp. Most Trichoderma strains are more efficient in controlling some pathogens than others and may be largely ineffective against some fungi. Trichoderma spp. continue to be a major source of contamination and crop loss for mushroom farmers.

Use for:

  • Controls multiple soil borne pathogens simultaneously.
  • One of the most concentrated Trichoderma based biofungicides.
  • Stimulates plant uniformity and growth and can be used in a wide range of conditions.
  • Triario GR protects plants against a range of soil borne root diseases through several different modes of action. It also improves root system development, nutrient uptake and plant growth.
  • Trichoderma harzianum T 22 protects against soil borne diseases such as Pythium spp., Rhizoctonia spp., Fusarium spp., Sclerotinia spp. and Microdochium spp.
  • Triario GR promotes plant growth and uniformity.
  • Triario GR can be used in most open field crops.

Mode of action:

The mode of action of Triario GR is based on the following mechanisms

  • Competition for space. Triario GR grows faster on the surface of the root than other soil borne fungi. Other fungi get less chance to establish on the roots.
  • Competition for nutrients. Triario GR takes away the source of nutrients that the pathogens need. The pathogens therefore have less chance to develop.
  • Parasitism of pathogens. Triario GR grows around the mycelia of the pathogens. The cell walls of the pathogens break down and the pathogens die.
  • Strengthening of the plant. Triario GR improves the root system through the formation of more root hairs, so that water and nutrients can be taken up better. This leads to a stronger and more uniform crop and better yields. This effect is stronger when the plant is under stress and/or cultivated under less than optimum growing conditions. Triario GR also reinforces the defence mechanism of the parts of the plant above ground, the so called induced systemic resistance (ISR). Triario GR has the capacity to make certain fixed nutrients such as manganese and iron available for the plant to take up.

Product specifications:

Pack size 20 kg bags.
Formulation Granules (GR).
Concentration 1.5x10⁸ cfu viable Trichoderma harzianum T 22 spores/gram.

Application:

  • Triario GR can be spread on the soil or in the furrow.
  • In case of mechanical application with a granule spreader, the exit hole of the spreader should be as close to the soil as possible to prevent wind blowing away the small granules. Make sure that the Trianum G granules flow smoothly through the tube system of the spreaders (avoid curves in the tubes).

Dosage and timing:

  • The dosage of Triario GR depends on the crop and should always be adjusted to the particular situation. Check the label to find the recommended dosage for each crop and situation.
  • Application rates typically range from 10 to 50 kg/ha, 1 to 10 kg/1000 plants or 375 to 750 gram/m³ of growing substrate.
  • Apply as early as possible in the crop cycle.

Environmental conditions:

Triario GR performs well under different environmental conditions. Trichoderma harzianum T 22 grows in a wide temperature range of 10°C to 34°C / 50°F to 93°F, at a pH between 4 and 8, in many types of cultivation media and on the roots of many different crops.

Storage:

  • See package for expiry date.
  • Store at temperatures of 4°C to 8°C / 39°F to 46°F.
  • Keep away from direct sunlight.

Caution:

  • Pesticides can have direct or indirect effects on biological solutions.
  • Only use products that are permitted in your country or state and crop.
