Canadian Strawberry Heirloom Apple

Canadian Strawberry is an heirloom apple variety originating in Maine USA that was saved from extinction by pomologist John Bunker. Canadian Strawberry apple trees are triploid, successful pollination and fruiting requires planting several different apple species that bloom at the same time alongside the plant.
Flavor: Juicy, distinctly tart, full flavoured dessert apple.
Fruit: Medium to large, round conic apple with a rich buttery yellow skin overspread with a vibrant red orange veil.
Use: Very good early season cider.
Hardiness: Zone 4.
Ripening: Harvest in late September.
Pollination: Plant with at least two different other apple varieties.
