Common Purple Heirloom Lilac

Syringa vulgaris 'Common Purple' has been treasured for years for the richly scented lilac flowers, borne on dense, erect, pyramidal shaped panicles. Clusters of lavender flowers grow from the branch tips in mid spring. They make a wonderful contrast to the dark green, heart shaped leaves. The hardy plants bloom reliably in cold climates and can withstand really severe winters down to -40ºC.
