Iris pumila Freeze Frame

Iris pumila is a natural hybrid distinguished by single blooms held on a lengthened perianth tube, acting as a short stem, with the ovary almost resting on the rhizome. The pygmy iris has since then been bred with the tall hybrid bearded iris cultivars to give rise to dwarf and median bearded irises. Iris beard is a row of fuzzy hairs at the base of falls petals that provide a landing place for pollinators and guides them to the nectar.
