Sandow Heirloom Apple

Sandow apple has the famous cooking quality of its well known parent Northern Spy, with better scab resistance, more cold hardiness and produces heavier crops, starting at a much younger age.

Flavor: Crisp, firm and quite sweet apple with an endearing raspberry flavoured edge.
Fruit: Large scarlet striped apple.
Storage: Up to four months in a cool, dark place like a refrigerator crisper drawer or root cellar.
Use: Fresh eating, pies, crisps, jelly, and apple sauce.
Hardiness: Zone 3.
Ripening: Harvest in mid October.
Pollination: Needs a pollenizer.
