Fameuse Snow Heirloom Apple

Fameuse or Snow apple arrived in Canada with early French settlers in the late 1600s. Reputed to be an apple with one of the highest vitamin C content, Famous is also one of very few apples that grow quite true to type from seed although the tree is rather susceptible to scab.

Flavor: Pleasantly mild, tender fruit.
Fruit: Small medium sized ruby red apples with bright white flesh.
Storage: 3 months.
Use: Eating apple, cooks up into a fluffy, white sauce and makes excellent sweet cider.
Hardiness: Zone 4.
Ripening: Harvest in mid September.
Pollination: Needs a pollenizer..
