Toro Irrigation SentryScreen Automatic Screen Filter - Angle Configuration

Automatic self-cleaning hydraulic screen filters are ideal for the most demanding agricultural and greenhouse irrigation applications. They can also be used as back up filtration at the control valves in the field. Operating hydraulically, the YFAF200 Series delivers high quality filtration from a wide range of water sources including treated wastewater, reservoirs, rivers and lakes.

The filter is equipped with a coarse screen protecting the finer screen from stones and larger debris. Once the pressure loss reaches a pre-set level, the filter will auto-clean in 5 seconds, ensuring a continuous supply of clean filtered water. Available in parallel or angle configurations with single filter screen areas up to 896 in² and maximum flow rates up to 880 gpm.

Operation Process:

Water enters the filter through the "inlet" and passes through the coarse screen, that functions as a "first stop" for large particles. Water then reaches the fine screen, which further cleans the flow by separating smaller particles from the water. As debris on the screen accumulates, a pressure differential builds up between the inlet and outlet of the filter, triggering a 10-second backflush cycle to automatically clean the screen.

Self cleaning Process:

When the difference in pressure (DP) reaches the preset value on the differential pressure indicator, the filter begins a backflush operation, while the water continues to flow to the irrigation system uninterrupted. The flush valve opens, and a strong suction force is created at the dirt collector nozzles inside the screen. The suction force vacuums away the dirt particles that accumulated on the inside of the screen. The hydraulic motor rotates the dirt collector around its axis and the piston moves the dirt collector forward so that the nozzles clean the entire inside surface of the screen. After 10 seconds the flushing process is complete and the flushing valve closes, and the resulting increased water pressure returns the dirt collector to its initial position. The filter screen is now clean and starts to accumulate dirt particles again.
