Westcot is a cross of Scout x McClure apricots developed at the Ag Canada research station at Morden, Manitoba, released in 1982. Westcot apricot can tolerate brutally cold prairie winters, down to extreme temperatures of −45°C/ -48°F, but are not as adaptable to the temperature fluctuations of eastern winters.
Fruit: Freestone apricot with a red blush on yellow skin and a sweet, firm texture balanced with nice acidity.
Use: Suitable for fresh eating, canning, and preserves.
Hardiness: Zone 2.
Ripening: Harvest in late July.
Pollination: Self fertile.
