Apple Tree - Pommier

Stand under an apple tree during spring flowering for the most delicious apple scent. Apple trees need another nearby, preferably different variety of apple tree to allow for cross pollination to bear fruit. Crabapples and wild apples accomplish the task too. Apple trees of multiple grafted varieties are pollinate themselves. Apple trees for purchase are about 2 metres tall and of fruit bearing age.  Apple trees grow up to 5 metres tall and can be grown all the way into zone 3.
