The African Queen Chinese Trumpet Lily, introduced in 1958, remains a prized heirloom variety celebrated for its exceptional beauty and resilience.
This stunning cultivar produces large, 6" to 8" trumpet-shaped flowers with a warm apricot-melon suffusion and striking coppery bronze-purple reverse. Distinctive luminous green ridges accent the outer petals, while elegant, long anther-tipped filaments add refined detail.
The Trumpet lily division includes Asiatic lilium species, their interspecific hybrids and Aurelian L. Henry crossbreeds. The flowers are trumpet shaped, long and conical, facing outwards and downwards, blooming in mid to late summer. Trumpet lilies are mostly strongly fragrant especially night fragrant. Excellent cut flower crop. Plant in full sun to part shade.
