Bloody Mary Nasturtium

Tropaeolum minus: This sumptuous mixture includes flowers from solid blood-red to creamy with red flecks and edges. Bloody Mary Nasturtium seeds produce low growing, clump-forming plants with darker than average leaves. Both flowers and leaves are edible, adding a peppery, sweet heat to salads and dishes. This annual works well in containers, window boxes, and hanging baskets. It blooms continuously from June to August. Prefers full sun to partial shade and thrives in poor to average, well-drained soil; over-fertilizing leads to more leaves than flowers. Direct sow 1/2 to 1 inch deep in warm soil after the last frost, as they are not frost-hardy. They germinate in 7-14 days.
