Copper Prince Ornamental Grass

Pennisetum glaucum. Same variety as Purple Majesty and Jade Princess, Copper Prince Millet is a stunning ornamental grass. The wide, grassy leaves emerge as a golden-green or light caramel color in spring. As they mature and receive more sunlight, they deepen into rich copper, bronze, and mahogany tones. In autumn, the foliage may take on a gorgeous brick-red hue. In mid-to-late summer, it produces bold, upright "foxtail" panicles in shades of rose-bronze or deep rosy-brown. These spikes eventually transition into dark brown seed heads that attract birds. It grows to 24–36 inches (61–91 cm) tall and 18–24 inches (46–61 cm) wide.This grass looks tantalizing in mass plantings or rows used to define garden edges as well as in patio containers.
