Hood is a pacific northwestern strawberry variety bred by the USDA, characterized by fruit borne well above the soil on strong, upright clusters. The strawberries is large, round and conic, glossy bright medium red skin and firm with a pleasant flavour. The strawberry ripens midseason and is a good variety for preserves and jams.
