San Andreas Day Neutral Strawberry

San Andreas strawberry plants, bred by University of California Davis, bear extra large, firm, high quality fruit with excellent flavour early in the season. The good disease resistance profile with no outstanding cautions together with a low chilling requirement make this strawberry cultivar a good candidate for Southern California growing. In comparison to the popular Albion strawberry variety, San Andreas plants are more vigorous early in the season, have a similar production pattern and plant size throughout the fruiting season with high and consistent productivity. San Andreas strawberries are exceptional in appearance, superior to Albion, with relatively lighter fruit colour but similar post harvest characteristics and almost the same or slightly lower overall fruit productivity. San Andreas produces few runners in the fruiting field and is suitable for all markets.
