Conestogo Apple

This apple comes from seeds, planted by a housewife from the village of Conestogo ON, of an unnamed apple that left an impression on her. A generation or so later, the tree is well on and continues to prosper with sublime fruit on its spreading branches.

Flavor: Crispy crunchy texture with a pleasant, aromatic flavour.
Fruit: Rather large apple, with a distinctive knobby shape.
Use: Versatile apple, a family favourite for fresh eating, pies and sauce.
Hardiness: Zone 4.
Ripening: Harvest in mid to late September.
Pollination: Needs a pollenizer.
