Clematis ''Jackmanii'' is a most famously known hybrid , a garden stable since 1862 bearing a profusion of single purple 15cm/ 6'' wide flowers from mid to late summer on new current year’s wood growth only.
 Requires hard pruning to two leaf buds from the ground in the dormant season before early spring. 
Plant in full sun to shade.
