Chandler June Bearing Strawberry

Chandler, a cultivar of garden strawberry, was developed in California in the early 1970s and is now one of the most popular cultivars grown in the United States. This vigorous strawberry variety, recommended for southern planting, is resistant to many common diseases and produces large, bright red fruit with very good flavour. High yields have been experienced throughout the Carolinas and California. Chandler strawberry plants hold their berry size well throughout the harvest season and have produced as high as one quart per plant over the season. Chandler are typically available from February to October in the southern states. Hardy to USDA zones 5 to 8.
