Honesty Lunaria

Lunaria annua, known as Honesty, Judas' Penny, and Moonwort, is a charming heirloom brought to America by Puritans. Plant seeds in spring in sun or partial shade for mauve flowers followed by distinctive papery seedpods that transform from flat green circles into silvery-white treasures, perfect for dried arrangements. These easy-to-harvest seeds are ideal for seed saving and sharing. Growing to about 90cm (35") tall, Honesty pairs beautifully with Foxgloves in shady garden spots. Started indoors early, it flowers in the first year as an annual; sown later, it behaves as a biennial. A delightful plant that defies conventional gardening rules.
