Wolf River Heirloom Apple

Wolf River is a very hardy, open pollinated Alexander apple seedling, legendary for its immense size, often weighing more than one pound, discovered in 1875 growing on the banks of the Wolf River near Freemont, Wisconsin.

Flavor: Mild and pleasant apple flavour.
Fruit: Big apple with a very pale reddish colour on its yellow skin and creamy white flesh.
Storage: 2 months.
Use: Excellent apple for cooking, baking and drying.
Hardiness: Zone 3.
Ripening: Harvest in early October.
Pollination: Needs a pollenizer.
