Montmorency Heirloom Sour Cherry

Montmorency is an old favourite variety of cherry that originated in France in the 17th century and is still the most popular pie and dessert cherry variety in North America. A cross between a sweet cherry and Prunus tomentosa, the Nanjing cherry, this cold hardy and disease resistant sour cherry tree with spreading form bears medium to large bright red cherries with firm yellow flesh that has a rich, tart, tangy flavour.
