Hudson’s Golden Gem Heirloom Apple

Hudson’s Golden Gem is a productive apple tree with fruit that will stay on the tree well into winter. Quite scab, mildew and fire blight resistant, this old apple variety was was first thought to be a pear when it was discovered as a fence row seedling in Oregon around the year 1931.

Flavor: Crisp and sugary, rich, nutty and refreshing somewhat pear like flavour.< br>Fruit: Large, deeply russeted fruit with a conical, elongated shape.
Storage: Good keeper.
Use: A first rate dessert apple, baking, drying and cider.
Hardiness: Zone 3.
Ripening: Harvest in mid October.
Pollination: Needs a pollenizer for cross pollination.
