TVG1 Chicory

TVG1 is an oblong, football-shaped Treviso chicory featuring dark red oval leaves with striking thick white ribs and veins. This variety excels in both early spring and summer plantings for reliable fall harvests, with excellent bolt resistance.
Heads measure 18-22cm (7-8.5") and weigh approximately 400g (14oz), offering the same gorgeous deep colour as Perseo Chioggia but with a noticeably milder flavour profile. The crisp texture and appealing bitterness make TVG1 ideal for salads, where it pairs beautifully with balsamic vinegar or citrus dressings. For a warm-weather preparation, try grilling the heads to bring out their natural sweetness and tender crunch.
TVG1 combines striking visual appeal with versatile culinary applications, making it a standout choice for gardeners seeking both ornamental and gastronomic value.
