Crane Feather Queen Ornamental Kale

Crane Feather Queen is an F1 hybrid ornamental kale bred for cut flower arrangements and winter bouquets. Deeply frilled, silvery-grey outer leaves frame a rosette of interior foliage that deepens to rich dark pink when exposed to cold. Plants grow as single, upright stems reaching 50–90cm (20–36") tall. Sow seeds in mid to late summer and transplant seedlings with row cover protection once they develop two to three true leaves. Use flower netting to maintain straight, upright stems. Ready for cutting in 90–120 days. Tight spacing promotes taller growth; remove lower leaves once plants reach 25cm (10") to encourage thinner stems ideal for arrangements. The leaves are technically edible and become sweeter after frost. Pair with Crane Feather King for striking color contrast in floral designs.
