Sweet Marjoram

Origanum majorana. Sweet Marjoram is a key ingredient in many Mediterranean dishes, offering a delicate flavour similar to oregano. This pale green, bushy plant spreads readily when pinched back while young. Direct sow seeds uncovered in spring. Harvest the entire plant in fall to hang-dry or pot up for indoor winter growth. Thrives in containers or garden beds with good drainage and full sun. Attractive flowers draw honeybees and pollinators, while leaves and sprigs infuse oils and vinegars beautifully.
