Trifeola Trifoliate Hybrid Budwood

Citrus x tangelo 'Minneola' x Poncirus trifoliata.

This is an experimental rootstock in South Africa. This planting consists of 10 year old trees of grapefruit, navel, Ortanique, lemon, and Valencia - no incompatibilities have been observed to date. MXT germinates well and buds easily in the nursery; in the field it is very vigorous (like Minneola parent) and has not as yet shown to be susceptible to Phytophthora. Furthermore, it induces good fruit size and internal quality.

Rootstocks of accession:  Carrizo citrange.

Season of ripeness at Riverside, California:  October to November.
