Strawberry Swirl Gladiolus Corms

Gladiolus grow from corms into unbranched longitudinal leaves enclosed in a sheath and inflorescences that bear one to several flowers. The spectacular colourful giant flower spikes of gladioli cultivars is the result of centuries of extensive hybridization and selection. Gladiolus is propagated from cormlets offset by the parent corm and from seed, both of which take several years to grow to flowering size. Gladioli grow naturally in warm climates, dig up clumps and divide every few years to keep the plants vigorous. In temperate climates, the corms must be lifted in autumn once the leaves dry out and stored in a frost free place to be replanted in spring. Grow in full sun. Gladiolus makes excellent cut flowers.
