The exact same battery can store electricity from both solar panels and wind turbines. Once solar panels or wind turbines generate electricity, it is converted into standard direct current DC or alternating current AC power. The battery stores the surplus electrical energy as chemical energy, and later releases it as electricity whenever the sun is down, the wind stops blowing, or power demand spikes.
