Citrus nobilis.
C. sinensis cv. 'Moro' X C. deliciosa cv. 'Avana'. Original cross made sometime around 1990. The accession on C-35 rootstock first flowered in March 2010. Stigmas and styles were red to pink in color. Several fruits followed that started to get anthocyanin pigment in mid-November. By January, most fruits were bright red in colour both internally and externally; some were dark purple. Rind peels away very easily; segments peel easily from each other. Rough rind with a slight neck and depressed apex. Good flavour. Seedy.
Rootstocks of accession: Carrizo citrange, C-35 citrange.
Season of ripeness at Riverside: December to January.
Prepared by the Givaudan Citrus Variety Collection at The University of California Riverside.
