Hydrangea macrophylla, endemic to East Asia, grow into large deciduous shrubs of rich foliage with big leaves and corymb inflorescences with red florets. Bigleaf hydrangea grows in seaside and mountain habitats and is partial to the shade of woodland gardens and plenty of water. French hydrangea forms flower buds for the next season in late summer so minimal pruning is recommended for most prolific flowering. Spring to autumn blooming long lasting flowers make for excellent cut flowers. USDA zones 5 to 9. Height x Width: 4ft x 4ft Mophead hortensia cultivar.
