Scientific name: Phytoseiulus persimilis.
Phytoseiulus persimilis, a genus of mite in the Phytoseiidae family, is an important natural predator of the two spotted spider mite. Phytoseiids can postpone or delay egg production during periods when prey are scarce, allowing them to have a longer lifespan. phytoseiids are also capable of rapid reproduction when prey is readily available, killing more prey during reproductive cycles.
*Avoid broad spectrum chemical insecticides to attract and conserve phytoseiid mites.
Use for:
- For the organic biological control of spider mite only.
- Natural enemy of the two spotted spider mite (Tetranychus urticae) and other Tetranychus spp., except Tetranychus evansi.
- Especially recommended to suppress high densities.
- Not effective under extremely dry and warm conditions.
- Can be combined with Neoseiulus californicus and Feltiella acarisuga.
Mode of action:
Predatory mites pierce their prey with their sucking mouthparts and suck out the contents.

Dosage:
The dosage of Spidex depends on climate, crop and spider mite density and should always be adjusted to the particular situation. Start introduction as soon as the first pest mites are detected in the crop. Introduction rates typically range from 2 to 50 mites per m2/release. Releases should be repeated once or twice at weekly intervals.
