Irrigation sprinklers are made used for residential, industrial, and agricultural usage to apply water to plants in a controlled manner that mimics rainfall, for cooling and for the control of airborne dust.
Water is piped to central locations and distributed by overhead high pressure sprinklers.
Overhead irrigation can be automated, powered by electric or hydraulic energy and employ the use of centre pivot irrigation, water wheel or circle irrigation, rotating sprinkle heads, rotator pivot applicator sprinkler, oscillating sprinklers or impact sprinklers, end gun pivot applicator sprinkler or rainguns, drip sprinkler or micro sprinklers, underground sprinkler systems or retractable sprinkler heads and portable sprinklers, in permanent or moveable surface and subsurface installations.
