Eastern oyster lines of brood stock are mixed with carefully selected wild caught specimens to produce seed shellfish that can withstand environmental events as it grows to market size.
After several weeks of growth, juvenile shellfish leave the controlled environment and continuous supply of life sustaining algae of the hatchery to acclimate to pure seawater and its natural nutrients in three different shellfish nurseries strategically located around Cape Cod, offering a variety of growing conditions. The seed is allowed to grow to desired size in low densities and healthy environments with nutrient rich waters perfect for growing juvenile shellfish into field plant sized. No matter where the seeds are grown to market size, they will look inviting and taste delicious.
