Victory is a premium early season strawberry variety renowned for its exceptional shelf life, vigorous growth and resistance to fungal diseases, perfect for reliable, high quality yields that thrive in diverse conditions. The Victory strawberry variety, a standout cultivar from the Berry Genetics program, is gaining popularity worldwide for its rustic charm and superior performance. Early and highly productive plants kick off the season with consistent fruiting from late December to early January, maintaining steady output without sharp peaks, which makes harvesting efficient and labor friendly. Victory excels in disease resilience, boasting strong resistance to vascular fungal diseases like botrytis, even in challenging weather such as high humidity or low temperatures. The vigorous, compact plants adapt well to Mediterranean and coastal climates, showing excellent vegetative development and minimal rot issues, ideal for growers seeking healthy, low maintenance options. In trials, Victory has delivered impressive yields, with reports of 25 to 30 tons per hectare in regions like Greece, and the strawberries hold up remarkably post harvest, allowing the fruit to reach distant markets in top condition. The heart shaped strawberries are visually striking, with a deep red exterior, light red interior, and firm skin that is resistant to friction and bruising. The berries offer a balanced sweet flavour with optimal Brix levels of around 7 to 8 °Bx, stable sizing throughout the season and an intense aroma that delights consumers. Compared to varieties like Fortuna, Victory often shows higher yields, of up to 11.85 kg per plant and greater leaf area allowing for better photosynthesis, though the leaves may have slightly lower chlorophyll content. This disease resistant powerhouse ensures bountiful, flavourful harvests whether you are a local or overseas commercial grower, expanding your operation or starting fresh. Victory strawberries do best in the temperate climates of southern Spain, along the Mediterranean, Northern Africa and North America.
