Lavender Lady, also known as Common Globe Amaranth, produces spherical lavender flowers that resemble clover blooms from summer through fall. This heat and drought-tolerant annual reaches 70cm (28") tall, making it an excellent choice for cut flowers in both fresh and dried arrangements. Low maintenance and long-blooming, it fills the flowering gap during hot, dry periods perfectly. Gomphrena is also valued medicinally and brews into a subtly sweet tea. Heat and drought tolerant. Long blooming season. Excellent for cut and dried arrangements. Attracts pollinators. Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost or direct sow after soil warms. Optimal soil temperature 21-24°C (70-75°F). Germinates in 7-14 days. Prefers full sun and well-draining soil with consistent moisture, though tolerant of dry spells. Pinch back seedlings at 15cm (6") to encourage bushier growth. Taller varieties may need support.
