Iris versicolor Gerald Darby

Iris versicolour is a perennial North American native plant growing in marginal environments with water saturated soils. The blue flag iris forms large clumps of thick creeping rhizomes. The leaves and roots of this plant are poisonous to humans and cattle. The leaves emerge purple in spring and mature to green.
