Automated recirculating hydroponics set ups allow micro green producers and livestock farmers to harvest reliable quantities of sprouts for the market and grazing fodder and sprouted grain for farmed animals every 7 to 9 days. Optimized indoor growing conditions ensure commercial crop availability and nutritious feed for your stock across all seasons throughout the year.

1. Assemble recirculating hydroponic growing unit as per provided assembly instructions.
2. Fill up nutrient solution reservoir tank with pH controlled water with diluted fertilizing salts or organic growing plant nutrition.
3. Connect the pump to electricity and power on.
4. Set the digital timer to suit your irrigation schedule.
5. Lay felt, jute, burlap or treated sheep wool as growing medium on growing trays for easy harvest of seedlings.
6. Spread soaked or dry speciality micro green or fodder seeds on the plant growing substrate.
7. Reap your germinated crop at weekly intervals or longer.
8. Sow new seeds intermittently for a continuous supply of market and feeding material.

*Nutrient solution reservoir tank is not included. Use larger reservoirs instead of smaller ones. A large volume of enriched water mitigates faster depletion of nutrients and prevents broad and frequent pH fluctuations.

Use this system to grow animal feed such as sprouted cereal grains and young shoots of barley, oat, wheat, corn, millet and sorghum and germinated legumes like alfalfa, clover and cow peas for chicken, dairy cows, beef cattle, sheep, rabbits and horses.
This type of fodder and sprouted grains contain proteins, essential vitamins, fibre, minerals and enhances the digestion of nutrients.

Microgreens, sprouting seeds to be harvested just after the cotyledon leaves have fully developed with one set of partially developed true leaves, cultivated for human consumption include young brassica crucifers greens like broccoli, radish, cauliflower, arugula, cabbage, kale, kohlrabi, mustard, mizuna, cress, daikon radish, produce plants such as beetroot, spinach, Swiss chard, quinoa, peas, carrot, celery, endive, lettuce, chicory, radicchio, herbs like cilantro, basil, fennel, chives, fenugreek, leek, parsley, fruiting vines like cucumber, melons, squashes and flowers like the sunflower, amaranth.
Microgreens add varied flavours of sweetness and spiciness to food and are used for garnish. These germinated sprouts with young leaves are a source of antioxidants, essential minerals and vitamins.
