Green Globe Artichoke

Cynara scolymus: Green Globe artichoke seeds grow on such attractive plants that they are often found in the flower garden. A little patience is needed but the wait is worthwhile. Plump, round, artichokes may appear on this variety in the first year, but the harvest improves in the second year of growth. They can be large, at 8-10cm (3-4") in diameter. Harvest the buds when they are young and tender. The attractive plants grow 1-2m (3-6') tall. These artichokes have excellent flavour and thick, succulent scales that long for melted butter at a summer feast.

Matures in 120 days. Open-pollinated seeds.
