Junipers are coniferous trees in the genus Juniperus, of the cypress family Cupressaceae. Juniper species are widely distributed throughout the Northern Hemisphere, from the Arctic as far South as tropical Africa.
Junipers vary from tall trees to low spreading shrubs and bloom several times a year or in autumn in cold climates to give small berry like fruits in red brown, orange or blue.
The natural oils in Juniper wood makes for an earthy, fragrant aroma when burned.
Juniper firewood is easy to light, making it excellent to start a wood fire and burns hot.
The resinous content of Juniper makes it pop and spark, thus is a better choice for outdoor open bonfires, campfires, fire pits and wood stoves.
Being a softwood, Juniper burns relatively quicker, it is optimally mixed with longer burning hardwoods to give sustained heat.
Sustainably sourced, naturally aged and seasoned, kiln dried hardwood from the U.S.A.
