Lavandula x intermedia, known as Dutch Lavender and Lavandin, is a cross between Lavandula angustifolia, called Old English Lavender, and Lavandula latifolia, Portuguese Lavender. The plants are bigger and easier to harvest with a sharper overtone in the fragrance. Lavender flourishes in dry, well drained sandy or gravelly alkaline soils in full sun. High humidity and constantly wet soil in summer and winter will contribute to root rot. USDA zones 5 to 10. Height: 3ft Grown commercially in France for essential oil and flowers. This Lavender hybrid bears highly fragrant light purple flowers. Tolerant of more humidity and heat.
