Black Peony Poppy

Papaver somniferum. Black Peony poppies showcase the deepest purple flowers available, with fully double, tightly packed petals creating a striking peony-like appearance. Dramatic blooms open for one day and appear continuously from July through September, reaching 10cm (4") across. Plants grow to approximately 90cm (36") tall. The dried seed heads are excellent for floral arrangements, while edible seeds work beautifully in baking. Highly attractive to bees and naturally resistant to grazing deer.
